The group "Kolorit" was created in 2001, in Chicago. One of the reasons of the creation of the group is that the Bulgarian society continues to grow and the need for Bulgarian entertainment grows as well, the other reason in that also American people become more and more interested in the exotic Bulgarian rhythms. All of the members of the group are professional musicians, graduated from some of the elite musical schools in Bulgaria, such as:"Middle Musical Academy Philip Kutev" and "Middle Musical Academy Shiroka Luka", also they have all graduated from the Musical Academy in the city of Plovdiv! :: The members of the group are as follows:
The group primary plays Traditional Bulgarian Music, but they are also mixing other music styles and looking to create something new and exotic! From all the experience they have had during the years and from all the performances with different groups and performers such as: Ivo Papazov, Georgi Yanev, Peter Ralchev, "Kanarite", all the members of "Kolorit" get the opportunity to learn and to entertain at their best! "Kolorit" plays Bulgarian Folk Music as well as Greek, Serbian, Gypsy and many more of the Balkans. Though,"Kolorit" has a short history they have come a long way and have left many achievements behind, they have played at the Univercity of Chicago, Evanston, "Hot house" and many more. In July, 2002 the Group is finally finishing and releasing their first album. At this time the group "Kolorit" plays in different Bulgarian clubs, restaurants and caffees in Chicago. |
